Bonjour friends. Happy Thanksgiving to those of you across the globe celebrating today. Do you have big plans? Are you hosting a large crowd? Will you keep in small? Are you skipping it in the traditional sense, but still giving thanks? Are you attending a potluck or a Friendsgiving? Maybe you are volunteering? Or holding those you love close while you struggle through difficult times? Wherever you are in the world we hope you have a fabulous day filled with love, kindness, community, family, adventure and so much more.
Our plan for the day (it is not a holiday here in France) is to keep it relatively love key compared to last year, the kids have school and Will and I have work. As it stands now we will build some candy Thanksgiving turkeys as our holiday craft, eat some pumpkin pie (we can’t pass over Thanksgiving without eating being part of the day), watch the famous Charlie Brown movie and finish the evening with the most important part…giving thanks.
I spend time each day (no joke) recognizing how fortunate we are and giving thanks for this life. We get one shot at it (unless you believe in reincarnation) and we are truly grateful for the strength, love and kindness we are afforded each and every day as we globe trot with our kids in tow. I realize that not everyone on this planet will have their dreams fulfilled, feel loved, do work that inspires them, feel safe, have freedoms and so much more and for that I am truly, humbly grateful.
May your day be filled with love, compassion and community/family.
Happy Thanksgiving today and everyday.
